Ayalon Highways Chairman Faces Ouster Amidst Resume Fraud Allegations

The Government Companies Authority has demanded answers from Idan David, chairman of Ayalon Highways, following a "The Critic" investigative report aired on Channel 12 news. The report alleges that David exaggerated his professional experience on his resume when applying for the position. The Authority has given David until September 22 to respond to the claims, stating that submitting inaccurate information could be grounds for disqualification and potentially lead to criminal proceedings.

Meanwhile, sources tell Globes that Alex Dan is actively seeking to gather a majority on the board of directors to replace David should he be removed. Dan has a background in senior roles at Israel Railways, the Ministry of Intelligence, and Elbit Systems Israel. He was also a leading candidate for the director general position of the Metro Authority but was not selected.

David, appointed in July of the previous year as a nominee of Minister David Amsalem, previously served as the CEO of the Ashkelon Municipality for three years before resigning shortly before the last local elections. Ayalon Highways manages an annual budget of approximately 3 billion shekels and is responsible for infrastructure development, highway construction, and transportation innovation projects.

The Authority's letter to David, signed by Director Roee Kahlon, noted that these allegations were previously raised with David a week prior, but no response had been received. The letter emphasizes that any information submitted must be accompanied by a sworn affidavit confirming its accuracy, signed by a lawyer.
