New Ayalon Highways Chair Accused of Fabricating Resume

Idan David, 40, the newly appointed chairman of Ayalon Highways, is facing allegations of systematically inflating and falsifying his resume to meet the qualifications for the high-profile position. An investigation by 'HaMevaker' (The Critic) suggests David's curriculum vitae presents a misleading picture of his management experience and financial oversight capabilities.

David's resume reportedly claims extensive experience, including a role as CFO at the agricultural company Migdalit, where he allegedly managed hundreds of millions in revenue. However, the former CEO of Migdalit, Shlomo Rabia, denies signing a letter of recommendation attributed to him, calling the figures cited a forgery and stating David was not a CFO. Migdalit also faced significant debt and bankruptcy proceedings during that period, details allegedly omitted from David's application. Furthermore, accountant Yoram Barzani claims a letter bearing his forged signature, which supported David's qualifications, was fabricated and that he has no knowledge of Migdalit.

Further scrutiny of David's career reveals discrepancies in his roles as CEO of the economic company of Kiryat Motzkin and later as CEO of Ashkelon Municipality. Claims of developing new neighborhoods and a 'hotel promenade' in Kiryat Motzkin appear unsubstantiated, with residents and city officials denying the existence of such projects. In Ashkelon, council members reportedly questioned David's resume, which he evaded addressing directly.

David also founded a private company, IDY, claiming it manages NIS 4 billion in assets and employs 320 people. However, investigations at the listed addresses led to Wix's offices and a residential building, with no evidence of IDY's operations or employees found. When confronted, David refused to answer questions about his professional experience or his company, directing inquiries to the police.

Following the investigation's findings, a criminal complaint is expected to be filed against David with the police. The Israel Companies Authority has also received a report from the Attorney General regarding the discrepancies and is considering an investigation. David's response asserts that the appointments committee thoroughly vetted his experience and found him qualified, dismissing claims of document forgery as severe.
