Ayalon Highways Chairman Ousted Amid Resume Fraud Allegations

Idan David, the chairman of Ayalon Highways, has been dismissed from his position following accusations of falsifying his resume. The decision was made by the Government Companies Authority's Appointments Committee, headed by retired Justice Shlomit Dotan, after an investigative report by Yossi Mizrahi on Channel 12's "HaMevaker" program revealed significant discrepancies between David's presented qualifications and reality. David denied the allegations, claiming he was not given adequate time to present his case, despite the story breaking about 10 days prior.

Following the report, the Government Companies Authority filed a police complaint against David on suspicion of forgery and other offenses, prompting a police investigation. David is also expected to be removed from his role as a board member of the Sports Betting Council.

The investigative report alleged that David misrepresented his experience at Migdalit, claiming it had assets of approximately NIS 1.1 billion, revenues of NIS 814 million, and 407 employees. However, the company's financial statements from 2015 showed revenues of only NIS 16.9 million and assets of NIS 19.2 million. Furthermore, the accountant, Yoram Barzani, whose attestation David relied upon, denied signing the document or handling the company's reports.

Discrepancies were also reportedly found regarding IDY GROUP, where David claimed to be CEO and stated the company had revenues of NIS 2.1 billion, assets of NIS 4.8 billion, and employed 320 people. The investigation suggested that the company, headed by David's wife, has no offices and its financial figures are significantly smaller than claimed.
