Netivei Ayalon Chairman Ousted Amid Allegations of Resume Fraud

The chairman of the government-owned company Netivei Ayalon, Idan David, was dismissed from his position on Sunday following a Channel 12 investigative report. The decision was made by the Appointments Committee of the Government Companies Authority, headed by Judge Shulamit Dotan, based on findings that David allegedly provided false information and forged documents in his resume submitted for his appointment.

The investigation revealed that David claimed to have managed budgets of approximately 1 billion shekels and supervised around 400 employees. However, the review indicated he actually managed fewer than 10 employees and budgets of only about 20 million shekels. Furthermore, during his stated tenure as CFO of Migdalit, individuals whose signatures appeared on verification documents denied signing them, and no offices or active employees of the company were found. His listed recommenders also disavowed their endorsements.

Additional suspicions arose that while serving as CEO of the Economic Company in Kiryat Motzkin, David promoted real estate and hotel projects that proved to be fictitious. His past also includes involvement with a private company that collapsed, leaving millions of shekels in debt.

David, appointed as a confidant of Transportation Minister Miri Regev and with the backing of Minister Dudi Amsalem, took over the management of Netivei Ayalon, which handles an annual budget of about 3 billion shekels, without prior experience in the transportation sector. His tenure was marked by significant tension, including attempts to dismiss the company's respected CEO, Orly Stern, which were blocked by the Government Companies Authority. The friction escalated after the authority sent David an official warning letter for attempting to hold a board meeting without legal counsel and excluding supervisory staff.
