Police Launch Probe into Netivei Ayalon Chairman Over Forgery Allegations

Israel's police have opened an investigation into Idan David, the chairman of Netivei Ayalon, following allegations of forgery and other offenses. The probe was initiated by a directive from Commander Boaz Baltz, head of the Investigations and Intelligence Department, after a Channel 12 investigative report revealed discrepancies in the details David provided during his appointment process.

Simultaneously, David has been summoned by the Government Companies Authority for clarification regarding the claims. The authority reportedly received findings and documents from the investigative report on September 10, before its broadcast. Four days later, they contacted David for his response, but according to the authority, he did not reply. He is now required to provide a full written response, backed by a sworn affidavit, by Tuesday at 6 PM.

The investigation centers on information David presented about his past work, including his tenure at Migdalit company. He claimed to have served as deputy CEO of a company with revenues of approximately NIS 800 million and over 400 employees. However, documents suggest significantly lower figures. The accountant whose signature appeared on an approval stated he never provided it and had no connection to the company. The former CEO of Migdalit also denied David's claim of serving as deputy CEO.

Furthermore, David is being asked to provide evidence of the activities of GROUP IDY, a company he stated had 320 employees, NIS 2.1 billion in revenue, and a balance sheet of NIS 4.8 billion. He had previously claimed to lack documented information on the company's operations from external sources. Now, he must present proof, such as an accountant's confirmation or state reports, to verify these figures.

The Government Companies Authority warned that submitting inaccurate details could be grounds for disqualification and potential criminal proceedings. They also noted that if the information is found to be false, his appointment could be revoked, and his tenure terminated.
