Five Israeli Gymnasts Reach Finals at Paris Challenge Cup
Israel's national artistic gymnastics team has achieved a significant success at the Challenge Cup in Paris, with five gymnasts qualifying for the finals. The competition serves as the final preparation for the World Championships, scheduled to take place in Rotterdam in about a month and a half.
Olympic medalist Artem Dolgopyat secured first place in the preliminary round for the floor exercise, earning a score of 14.066 points. Noam Berkovich qualified for the high bar final in second place with 13.700 points. Roni Shamai advanced to the beam final in seventh place, scoring 12.150 points, and will also serve as the first reserve for the floor exercise final.
Ron Piatov qualified for the parallel bars final in third place with 14.100 points. Ilya Lyubimov also reached the parallel bars final, placing seventh with 13.766 points. The finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday.
The boys' team is coached by Sergey Weisburg and Ilan Korchek, with physiotherapist Shagi Motas and judge Ron Israel. The girls' team is coached by Roni Rabinovich, with Tzuf Feldon serving as judge.
