Israeli Gymnasts Reach Five Finals at Paris Challenge Cup
The Israeli men's artistic gymnastics team has qualified for five finals at the Challenge Cup competition in Paris, which began on Saturday. This event serves as the final preparation for the World Championships scheduled to take place in Rotterdam in approximately six weeks.
Olympic medalist Artem Dolgopyat secured the top spot in the floor exercise qualifiers with a score of 14.066. Noam Berkovich advanced to the high bar final in second place, scoring 13.700. Roni Shaimai qualified for the balance beam final in seventh place with 12.150 points and is also the first reserve for the floor exercise final.
Ron Piryatov earned a spot in the parallel bars final, placing third in the qualifiers with 14.100 points. Ilya Liubimov also reached the parallel bars final, qualifying in seventh place with 13.766 points. The finals are scheduled for Sunday.
The men's team is coached by Sergey Weisburg and Ilan Korchek, with physiotherapist Shagi Motas and judge Ron Israel. The women's team coach is Roni Rabinovich, and the judge is Tzuf Feldon.
