IDF Bolsters Forces Across All Fronts Ahead of Sukkot Holiday

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are significantly increasing their readiness and troop presence across all operational fronts in anticipation of the Sukkot holiday, citing the need to counter potential escalations. Additional units are being deployed in the north, south, and central regions of the country. Senior officers have been appointed in each military district to oversee the operational situation during the holiday period, with a particular focus on Judea and Samaria.

In a move to enhance counter-terrorism capabilities and defensive readiness, the IDF Chief of Staff has directed the 98th Division headquarters to assume command of the Yehuda and Etzion brigades. The 98th Division headquarters has already conducted an assessment, gathered intelligence, and is preparing for deployment, with final preparations and assumption of direct command expected soon.

Major General Avi Bluth, commander of the Central Command, stated that the army has pre-approved operational plans for various scenarios, emphasizing a proactive approach. "We are not operating under the concept of 'war tomorrow,' but rather by the principle 'war is ongoing today,'" Bluth said, noting that Central Command units are deployed across multiple fronts.

This heightened alert extends to other branches of the military. The Air Force is increasing its readiness with more combat-ready aircraft, while the Navy is augmenting its missile boat fleet and enhancing maritime border patrols. Additional reserve units are also on standby for rapid deployment.

The IDF's multi-layered readiness encompasses the entire country, from the Lebanese border to the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria. The army states that this buildup is directly related to the holiday period and the necessity of being prepared for potential developments on any front.
