IDF Bolsters All Fronts Ahead of Yom Kippur Holiday
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will increase its troop presence across all operational fronts as the Jewish high holiday of Yom Kippur approaches, according to an order from Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir. Additional companies will be deployed to the Northern, Southern, and Central Commands. A senior officer will be on duty in each sector throughout the holiday.
The Home Front Command will also enhance its readiness, with a Major General stationed at headquarters and a district commander ensuring coverage in each region. Reserve units will be placed on heightened alert for rapid deployment if necessary.
The Israeli Air Force will operate at an increased readiness level during Yom Kippur, with more armed aircraft prepared for immediate action. The Navy will deploy additional missile-launching vessels at sea and intensify maritime border patrols.
These measures are part of a broader security buildup initiated by Zamir last month for the entire High Holiday period. He had previously instructed all IDF branches to maintain full operational readiness on multiple fronts without reducing personnel during this time.
