IDF Boosts Forces and Readiness for Yom Kippur Holiday
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi, has ordered an increase in troop deployments across the Northern, Central, and Southern Commands in preparation for the upcoming Yom Kippur holiday. Dedicated reinforcement companies will be deployed to these sectors, with a senior commander present in each sector throughout the holiday.
Home Front Command is also increasing its readiness, with a duty general at headquarters and a duty district commander in each district. The Air Force will maintain an increased number of armed aircraft during Yom Kippur, while the Navy will deploy an augmented fleet of missile ships and bolster routine security vessels along the borders.
Additional reinforcement companies will remain on standby as reserve forces, ready to be allocated to the various commands as needed. Reserve companies have also been reinforced, alongside the establishment of general staff readiness divisions assigned to specific sectors. These reserve forces will be available for rapid deployment to any required area.
