Police Disrupt Illegal Camel Race in Negev Firing Zone
Israeli police thwarted an illegal camel race in a firing zone in the Negev desert early Friday morning. Law enforcement forces raided the location during the race preparations, apprehending two minors who attempted to flee and hide in nearby bushes with a camel.
The operation was prompted by intelligence indicating the imminent staging of the illicit event near Highway 222 and the Bir Hadaj area. Upon arrival, officers observed vehicles, carts, and participants gathering at the site.
As the forces moved in, vehicles dispersed, and the two minors were discovered attempting to escape. They were detained for further investigation at the Shagav Shalom police station.
