Police Arrest 22 in Negev Village Amid Gunfire Disputes
Israeli police announced Tuesday the arrest of 22 suspects, including four women, during a field operation in the Bedouin village of Ar'arat an-Naqab in the Negev desert. The arrests were made in connection with ongoing disputes and incidents of gunfire in the area.
During the operation, police forces, accompanied by Border Police units, seized a pistol and a magazine of ammunition from a concrete factory in the local industrial zone. They also discovered a homemade 9mm weapon. Nine individuals were detained on suspicion of involvement in an exchange of gunfire and stone-throwing incidents.
In a separate search within a residential complex, forces uncovered an underground cache containing an M-16 rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. One suspect was arrested in connection with this discovery.
Additionally, police apprehended 13 other suspects believed to be involved in shooting incidents. All detainees were transferred to the Ar'arat an-Naqab police station for further investigation. The operation also saw the closure of six businesses in the village.
