Israeli Police Raid Arara in Negev, Arrest 24 Over Weapons and Criminal Disputes
Israeli police from the Arara station in the Rotem area conducted a major operation on Wednesday targeting key locations involved in criminal conflicts within the Bedouin community in the Negev town of Arara. During the raid, officers seized approximately 160,000 shekels in cash. A search of a residential compound uncovered two pistols, magazines, and ammunition. Another search yielded swords, ski masks, weapon holsters, and about 44,000 shekels in foreign currency.
The police also acted in connection with a recent vehicle arson incident in Arara, arresting suspects caught in the act. In total, 24 suspects were detained during the operation; some were remanded for further investigation while others were released under restrictive conditions, including house arrest and bans from the town. All suspects and seized items were transferred to the police station for ongoing investigative procedures.
