American rapper Macklemore announced on Thursday a new concert tour titled "Free Palestine Tour." The initial leg of the tour will feature three European dates: Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29, and London on October 30.
Macklemore stated on social media platform X that the tour is a response to perceived censorship, asserting, "What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed to be heard on stage, and which voices are too dangerous to be heard, everyone should pay attention." He added that all proceeds from the tour will be donated to organizations supporting the Palestinian people and movement.
The announcement follows a controversy where British singer Ed Sheeran reportedly removed Macklemore from his tour lineup. This action was reportedly taken due to anti-Israel statements Macklemore made during his opening performances on Sheeran's tour.
