Cyber Firm Island Completes $400 Million Funding Round at $6.4 Billion Valuation
Cybersecurity company Island announced it has successfully closed a Series F funding round, raising $400 million and achieving a market valuation of $6.4 billion. This significant funding round, led by Evolution Equity Partners with participation from existing and new investors including Sequoia Capital and Cyberstarts, more than doubles the company's valuation since its previous funding round in early 2024. Island, founded in 2020 by Dan Amiga (CTO) and Mike Fey (CEO), pioneered the enterprise browser category. The company has since expanded its offerings to include an Agentic Control Plane, providing comprehensive security and control for both human users and AI agents.
Island's rapid growth is highlighted by its consistent doubling of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) each year. The company, which employs approximately 1,000 people, with about 400 based in its Tel Aviv development center and the rest in Dallas, serves millions of users across various sectors including banking, pharmaceuticals, and government agencies globally. This latest investment will accelerate the company's expansion and its mission to provide a unified security and control framework for the evolving digital landscape.
CEO Mike Fey stated that the company is entering an era where humans and AI agents work collaboratively, and the investment will enable Island to enhance its offerings. CTO Dan Amiga emphasized the strength of the engineering team, particularly in Israel, as a cornerstone for building a major company with a significant anchor in the country. Island's client base includes major financial institutions, insurance companies, hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotech firms, government and defense agencies, critical infrastructure companies, Fortune 500 technology firms, and large retail chains.
This funding round follows a significant secondary transaction in September 2025, which valued the company at approximately $5 billion. The current valuation underscores Island's meteoric growth trajectory and its established position as a global market leader in cybersecurity.
