Son of Well-Known Singer Arrested in Jerusalem with Over 1 Kilogram of Cannabis
Police in Jerusalem arrested a 28-year-old resident of Modi'in overnight Wednesday to Thursday, identified as the son of a well-known singer, after discovering approximately 1.1 kilograms of suspected cannabis in his vehicle. The arrest occurred during a routine operational activity when officers noticed a suspicious vehicle and signaled the driver to stop for inspection.
During the search of the car, officers found the substance, divided into dozens of small bags. Authorities suspect the cannabis was intended for distribution throughout Jerusalem. The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to the Oz police station for further investigation.
This incident follows other recent drug busts in Israel, including the seizure of over 2 kilograms of drugs at Ben Gurion Airport and the discovery of over a thousand cannabis plants in the south of the country.
