IDF Partially Demolishes Terrorist's Home, Angering Victim's Family

Israeli security forces partially demolished the home of Daous Hasson, a 51-year-old terrorist who murdered Yehuda Shmuel Sherman in March. The operation, codenamed "Spirit of the Storm," involved destroying walls on the first two floors of the building but leaving the third floor intact.

Yehoshua Sherman, Yehuda's father and a leader of the "Return Them Home" forum, expressed outrage at the partial demolition, calling it a "mockery of the poor" and a "disgrace" that sends the wrong message. He praised the soldiers who carried out the mission but criticized the security establishment's decision.

"The decision by the IDF to cause symbolic damage to the terrorist's house, which remains standing, is a disgrace and a real blow to the country's security," Sherman stated. He argued that this approach reflects a return to the legalistic mindset prevalent before October 7, which he believes emboldens terrorism.

Sherman emphasized that the terrorist intentionally set out to murder and that there is no justification for leaving his home standing. He asserted that a "demolition in name only" harms bereaved families and fails to deter terrorism, instead signaling weakness and encouraging future attacks. He demanded that the security establishment completely flatten the house to the ground.
