IDF Commander Approves Demolition of Terrorist’s Home in West Bank After Yehuda Sherman Killing

Five months after the deadly attack that killed Yehuda Sherman, the IDF Central Command Chief, Major General Avi Blot, has signed an order to confiscate and demolish the home of terrorist Duas Hasson. Hasson carried out the attack in the village of Beit Amrin, where Sherman was murdered and another Israeli civilian was wounded. The military notified Hasson’s family last week of its intent to seize and destroy the house where he lived.

The attack occurred on March 21, when several settlers entered Beit Amrin. Hasson, a local resident in his 50s, deliberately rammed a Ranger vehicle carrying Sherman and two other Israelis. The vehicle rolled into a wadi, and Sherman was pronounced dead shortly after. Investigations revealed that Hasson drove his pickup truck toward the group and decided to attack once he saw the three Israelis inside the village. Hasson was later arrested by police, and the prosecution filed charges against him in May.

The demolition order follows the IDF’s policy of punitive home demolitions against terrorists involved in lethal attacks. The military’s announcement marks a significant step in the aftermath of the March attack, signaling ongoing security measures in the West Bank.
