Slain Man's Family Outraged as Military Halts Full Demolition of Terrorist's Home

The family of Yehuda Shmuel Sherman, who was killed in a terrorist attack, expressed outrage after the military prosecutor's office decided to only partially demolish the home of the perpetrator, Duas Hasson. The IDF informed the Sherman family that the demolition, scheduled to occur after Yom Kippur, would be conducted using the "breaching" method, which involves damaging only blocks, doors, and windows.

This method, according to the family, does not destroy the structure and allows for its quick repair and reuse. They view this decision as a severe blow to deterrence against terrorism in Judea and Samaria, calling it "security negligence." The family stated that the terrorist, a 51-year-old father, left his home with the intention of murdering a Jew, knowing his property would remain intact.

The Sherman family criticized the military legal system for repeatedly finding legal justifications to prevent the complete destruction of the terrorist's building. They believe that leaving the structure standing projects weakness against Palestinian terrorism and fails to provide the necessary deterrence to prevent future attacks. "This is called security negligence and minimal deterrence," the family stated, adding that the military prosecutor's office is effectively supporting Palestinian terrorism in Judea and Samaria.
