Haifa Inspector Caught on Video Using Profanity After Issuing Ticket

A municipal inspector in Haifa was filmed in an unusual confrontation with a passerby in the Neve Sha'anan neighborhood. According to witnesses, the passerby, a young resident, had spread sand on an oil slick on the road to prevent motorcyclists from slipping. Instead of acknowledging his helpful action, the inspector reportedly issued him a ticket.

During the exchange, the inspector was heard using vulgar language, telling another person who objected to the ticket, "He can get into my ass." Witnesses stated that after a motorcyclist slipped on the oil, bystanders moved his fallen scooter, spread sand on the slick, and placed another scooter to temporarily block the road section to prevent further accidents.

The inspector allegedly demanded the blocking scooter be removed, threatening further tickets if it wasn't. When the motorcyclist mentioned contacting a friend in the municipality to explain the situation, the inspector repeated the offensive phrase. The person filming the incident expressed dismay at the municipal inspector's conduct.

The Haifa Municipality stated that there are contradictions between the accounts and that the incident will be thoroughly investigated. The inspector will be summoned for a clarification hearing to examine the circumstances and how the situation was handled. The municipality added that it takes allegations of inappropriate conduct by employees seriously and that the inspector has been suspended pending the investigation's conclusion.
