Jerusalem Offers Free Parking During Sukkot Holiday Week
Jerusalem's municipality announced that parking in blue-and-white marked spaces throughout the capital will be free of charge during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. This benefit will be effective from Sunday, September 27, 2026, through Friday, October 2, 2026. The initiative aims to ease the burden on the hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors expected to visit tourist sites, historical landmarks, and holiday events in the city.
The municipality clarified that the exemption from payment applies only to regulated blue-and-white parking and does not cover traffic violations or illegal parking. The municipal supervision and policing system will continue its operations as usual, enforcing laws against illegal parking, blocking lanes, and parking in locations that endanger pedestrians or create safety hazards. In such cases, the municipality will strictly enforce regulations, including issuing fines and towing vehicles when necessary, to maintain traffic flow and public safety.
