Haifa Offers Free Parking During Sukkot Holiday

The Haifa Municipality has announced that parking in all blue-and-white marked spaces throughout the city will be free of charge during the upcoming Sukkot holiday.

The initiative, designed to ease congestion and encourage local commerce and tourism, will be in effect from Friday, September 25, to Friday, October 2. This measure aims to allow visitors and residents to enjoy Haifa's attractions without the added cost and hassle of parking meters or apps.

However, the municipality emphasized that the free parking exemption applies only to designated blue-and-white zones. The city's enforcement division will continue to operate fully, issuing tickets for serious parking violations. These include parking in red-and-white zones, spaces reserved for public transportation like bus and metro stations, disabled parking spots, and any location that obstructs pedestrian traffic or road flow.

This move follows a previous significant parking-related decision by the municipality. In January 2026, Haifa's legal advisor, Adv. Inbal Ben Ari, requested a vote by the city council to approve a campaign to erase accumulated late fees on old parking tickets, a measure intended to help residents with past debt.
