Tel Aviv Raises Parking Fees in 'Ahuzot HaHof' Lots Starting Next Week

The Tel Aviv municipality announced it will increase parking fees at the 'Ahuzot HaHof' parking lots after several years without changes. The decision comes in response to rising operational costs, the impact of the Parking Law, and the city's goal to reduce traffic congestion. Officials explained that the price hike aims to better manage high demand for parking in the city's cultural, entertainment, and commercial centers by encouraging faster vehicle turnover and improving space availability.

The new rates were set following a market survey comparing prices at nearby private lots and an analysis of usage patterns in municipal parking facilities. Despite the increase, Tel Aviv-Jaffa residents holding the appropriate local permit will continue to receive discounted rates and significant reductions compared to the general public.

Ahuzot HaHof management emphasized that even after the update, parking there remains substantially cheaper than private alternatives in the area. They noted that the fee adjustment reflects the increased maintenance and operational expenses over recent years, as well as revenue losses due to the Parking Law. The update also aims to better reflect the economic value of parking, support demand management, reduce traffic from parking searches, and enhance parking availability in key city zones, while maintaining affordable prices for residents.
