Tel Aviv Raises Parking Fees at Shoreline Lots by 20% Starting August 1

Starting Saturday, August 1, parking rates at Tel Aviv-Yafo's "Ahuzot HaHof" parking lots will increase by approximately 20%, the city announced on Monday. The decision comes in response to rising operational costs and reduced revenues linked to recent parking legislation. Hourly rates will rise by one shekel and daily rates by 1.5 shekels in some lots. Residents will pay 6 shekels per hour during the day, up from 5, and 9 shekels per hour at night, up from 7.5. Non-residents will see daily rates increase from 20 to 24 shekels per hour and nighttime rates from 30 to 36 shekels per hour.

The city also confirmed a 50% resident discount at several lots including Tel Nordau, Basel, Sheraton, Bogroshov, and Bnei Dan. The "Close to Home" benefit will start at 9 p.m., except at Sheraton lot. Additionally, after 96 consecutive hours of parking, the resident rate will no longer apply. "Ahuzot HaHof" management explained that the price update follows years of significant increases in maintenance and operational expenses, alongside revenue losses due to parking laws. The adjustment aims to better reflect the economic value of parking, manage demand, reduce traffic congestion, and improve parking availability in commercial and entertainment areas.

They added that prices were set after reviewing private parking rates nearby and usage patterns at municipal lots. Despite the increase, parking at "Ahuzot HaHof" will remain considerably cheaper than private lots, and Tel Aviv residents will continue to benefit from discounted rates.
