Tel Aviv-Jaffa Raises Parking Fees by 20% Starting August 1, 2026

The Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality announced a 20% increase in parking fees at the Ahuza Beach parking lots, effective August 1, 2026. The hike includes stricter conditions for residents, citing rising operational costs and demand management as reasons for the change.

Hourly parking rates for city residents will rise from 5 to 6 shekels, while non-residents will see an increase from 20 to 24 shekels per hour. Daily rates for residents will increase by 1.5 shekels in most lots, and night rates will also rise to 9 shekels for residents and 36 shekels for non-residents. Additionally, in selected lots such as Tel Nordau, Basel, Sheraton, Bugrashov, and Bnei Dan, the resident discount will be reduced from 75% to 50%. The start time for the "Close to Home" discount in these lots will be delayed from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Continuous parking beyond 96 hours will no longer qualify for resident rates, though the implementation date for this rule has not yet been announced.

Mayor Ron Huldai emphasized that the fee adjustments reflect increased maintenance and operational expenses, revenue losses due to parking regulations, and the need to better reflect the economic value of parking. The municipality also aims to improve parking availability in commercial, entertainment, and cultural areas while reducing traffic congestion.

The Ahuza Beach parking company stated that even after the price increase, their rates will remain significantly lower than nearby private parking alternatives, ensuring residents continue to benefit from discounted fees. The municipality highlighted that the new rates were set after reviewing private parking prices and usage patterns in municipal lots.
