Jerusalem Municipality Announces Sukkot Holiday Operations and Services

The Jerusalem Municipality has finalized its preparations for the Sukkot holiday and intermediate days (Chol HaMoed), releasing details on public services and guidelines for maintaining cleanliness and public order. Municipal offices will be closed to the public from Friday, September 25th, through Friday, October 2nd. However, essential city services, including sanitation, waste removal, enforcement units, the municipal police, gardening departments, and veterinary services, will operate normally.

As part of its sanitation efforts, the municipality announced a concentrated collection of Sukkah branches (schach) will take place after the holiday concludes. This collection is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 4th, and continue until Tuesday, October 6th. Residents are urged to adhere to the collection guidelines, separating Sukkah branches from general waste bins and placing them out only during the specified times.

The municipality emphasized that this coordinated effort aims to ensure efficient removal and maintain a clean and welcoming public space for the tens of thousands of residents and visitors expected during the holiday period.
