Police Advance Murder Case of Hashem Hajirat in Shfaram
Israeli police announced Wednesday the conclusion of their investigation into the August 12th murder of Hashem Hajirat in the city of Shfaram. A statement of claim has been filed against a 24-year-old suspect from the village of Bir al-Maksur.
The investigation was handled by the National Unit for the Investigation of International and Serious Crimes, Lahav 433, which stated the killing stemmed from a "dispute between two criminal groups." According to police, the suspect intercepted Hajirat, shot him, and fled. He was later apprehended in a wooded area.
Authorities reported that the suspect was found with a bottle of gasoline upon his arrest, which they believe he intended to use to burn the vehicle involved in the crime. Evidence has been gathered against the suspect, leading to the statement of claim, which precedes the filing of an indictment.
