Police Solve Fatal Shooting of Man in Jaffa, Arrest Two Suspects
Israeli police announced on Wednesday they have solved the murder of Ahmad Shukra, 28, who was shot and killed in Jaffa on August 28, 2026. Two Jaffa residents in their twenties have been arrested on suspicion of involvement.
According to police, initial investigations revealed Shukra was riding a bicycle on Jerusalem Avenue when a Grand Cherokee Jeep suddenly arrived. An assailant exited the vehicle, shot Shukra multiple times with a handgun, and fled the scene. Shukra, a Jaffa resident, was critically injured and transported to Wolfson Medical Center, where he died despite resuscitation efforts.
Tel Aviv District Commander Major General Haim Shargarov assessed the situation at the scene, and the investigation was assigned to the Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District. Detectives from the Central Unit initiated swift, technology-assisted investigations immediately after the murder.
Within hours, investigators arrested two suspects, also Jaffa residents, in the Jaffa area. During the arrest, one suspect discarded a loaded handgun, which investigators recovered. The Jeep used in the murder was also found and seized near the suspects' arrest location.
