Jaffa Shooting Suspect Arrested by Police
Police announced the arrest of a 22-year-old Jaffa resident suspected of involvement in a shooting incident that resulted in the death of Mohammed Raafat Ahmed Qatwan and serious injuries to another individual. The shooting occurred early on August 30, 2026, in Jaffa, where two men were shot. One sustained critical injuries, and the other serious ones. The critically injured victim later died at Wolfson Hospital.
Investigators believe the shooter was on a motorcycle and ambushed the victims while they were inside a car in a side parking lot. The assailant opened fire before fleeing the scene. During a search of the suspect's home, police discovered a pistol with a magazine and ammunition.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court to address a request for his extended detention.
