Suspect Arrested in Deadly Jaffa Shooting of Mohammed Qatwan
Israeli police announced the arrest of a 22-year-old Jaffa resident suspected of fatally shooting Mohammed Raafat Ahmed Qatwan and seriously injuring another man in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred early on August 30, 2026, in Jaffa.
According to police, the two victims were in a parked car when a motorcyclist ambushed them, opening fire before fleeing the scene. One of the men sustained critical injuries and later died at Wolfson Hospital.
During a search of the suspect's home, police discovered a handgun with a magazine and ammunition. The suspect has been taken for interrogation and is expected to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court to request an extension of his detention.
