East Jerusalem Man Suspected of Murdering Woman, Hiding Body in Barrel
New details have emerged in the murder case of Fatma Rajabi, a 61-year-old resident of East Jerusalem. The suspect, identified as Saleh Othman, a technician in his 60s also from East Jerusalem, allegedly hid her body in an industrial barrel not far from his home in the a-Tur neighborhood. During his interrogation, Othman claimed he was intoxicated at the time of the murder.
Further complicating the case, new security footage reportedly shows Othman attempting to withdraw cash using Rajabi's credit card after her death. Police suspect the motive for the murder was a significant debt, amounting to tens of thousands of shekels, owed to Rajabi by Othman. Investigators believe the two knew each other prior to the incident.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Rajabi's death and the subsequent actions of the suspect.
