Suspect Arrested for East Jerusalem Woman's Murder, Used Victim's Credit Card
Police have arrested a 60-year-old East Jerusalem man, Saleh Othman, suspected of kidnapping and murdering Fatima Al-Rajabi last week. Othman allegedly used Al-Rajabi's credit card to withdraw cash shortly after her death, according to new footage revealed by i24NEWS. Investigators believe Othman and Al-Rajabi knew each other, and the motive for the crime may have been a debt of hundreds of thousands of shekels.
Authorities suspect Othman abducted Al-Rajabi, killed her en route, and then disposed of her body near her home in the At-Tur neighborhood. The last known footage of Al-Rajabi shows her entering Othman's vehicle, which he used for his work as a technician. This footage was crucial in identifying Othman as a suspect.
After a five-day search for Al-Rajabi, Othman surrendered to police. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the acts and reenacted the murder. He also claimed to have been intoxicated at the time of the crime. Othman's detention has been extended as the investigation continues.
