Local Council Employee Arrested for Allegedly Installing Listening Devices
A local council employee in northern Israel was arrested on suspicion of installing eavesdropping devices in the office of the regional council head. The arrest followed a covert investigation by the Northern District Police after a complaint was filed by the local authority in recent weeks. Investigators from the Northern District's fraud department, working with council officials, gathered evidence that strengthened the suspicion. The investigation became public yesterday when police raided the council offices shortly after a meeting concluded. A 65-year-old resident of Gush Halav, who is a council employee, was arrested at the scene. Police stated that evidence linking him to the act was found in his possession.
