Senior Central Israel Municipality Official Arrested on Sexual Offense Charges

A senior official from a municipality in central Israel was arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against a municipal employee. The investigation began following a complaint filed by the employee with the Central District Police. Initially, the police conducted a covert investigation, which turned into an open inquiry after sufficient evidence was gathered. The suspect was then detained by the police's fraud unit investigators. Later on Wednesday, he is scheduled to appear before the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion for a hearing to extend his detention. The police will also request permission to publish the suspect's name to help identify any additional victims, if they exist.
