Deputy Mayor's Lawyers Deny Sexual Misconduct Allegations, Claim Extortion

The defense attorneys of a deputy mayor from central Israel, who is suspected of sexual offenses, have strongly denied the allegations. Lawyers Israel Klein and Nir Zino stated that their client, a multifaceted individual arrested for the first time in his life, is currently undergoing legal proceedings and maintains his presumption of innocence. They described the accusations as a fabricated plot and emphasized that there was no authoritative relationship between the deputy mayor and the complainant. According to the defense, the complainant even expressed interest in working in his office and sent him chocolates and a selfie taken in the shower.

The lawyers further revealed that about a week ago, the deputy mayor filed a complaint regarding WhatsApp messages that were circulated against him. They claimed he has been subjected to persecution and extortion linked to his demand that municipal employees not clock in and then disappear from work. He insisted that employees perform their duties properly and use fingerprint scanning for attendance.

The defense's statements highlight ongoing tensions within the municipality and suggest that the sexual misconduct allegations may be part of a broader conflict involving workplace discipline and personal vendettas. The case is still under investigation, and the deputy mayor's legal team is preparing to challenge the charges vigorously.
