Deputy Mayor of Rishon Lezion Denies Sexual Assault Allegations as Police Prepare Court Hearing

The Deputy Mayor of Rishon Lezion, suspected of sexual offenses, is set to appear in court while police plan to request his release under restrictive conditions. His lawyers told Maariv that after a WhatsApp message was sent to the complainant's husband alleging an affair between his wife and the deputy mayor, the sexual assault claim surfaced, which they assert is baseless. It was also revealed that prior to the incident, the deputy mayor had expressed a desire to resign from his demanding role and had consulted with the mayor about this decision.
