Emergency crews were called this morning to an apartment in Ashdod after a report that a woman in her 60s was unconscious and showed signs of violence. Paramedics from Magen David Adom said they found her without a pulse or breathing and began resuscitation attempts, but death was pronounced at the scene.
MDA paramedic Orel Asulin said, “We arrived at the apartment and immediately started resuscitation on the woman, who was unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. We performed life-saving measures, but we were forced to declare her dead.”
MDA also reported that the woman’s husband was evacuated from the scene conscious, with cut injuries to his limbs, in serious and unstable condition, to the trauma unit at Assuta Medical Center in the city. Police officers who arrived at the apartment began collecting evidence and findings as part of a homicide investigation.
At the same time, police carried out steps to locate and arrest anyone involved in the incident. Shortly afterward, they arrested the woman’s husband on suspicion of involvement in the killing and took him in for questioning.
