Police opened an investigation on Sunday into the death of a woman in Ashdod after she was found unconscious in her apartment. Her husband was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the killing, after a family member filed the complaint with police.
According to the report, the woman was found with signs of violence and severe head injuries. Police officers from the Ashdod station arrived at the scene and called in forensic investigators, who documented the injuries and confirmed that the victim had died at the apartment.
Magen David Adom medics and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. The article says the victim was a woman in her 60s, while MDA paramedic Orel Asulin described the first moments at the site, saying, “We arrived at the place and were led into the apartment. We saw a woman about 80 years old lying unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing.”
Police said the husband was detained after the investigation began. The case remains under investigation into the circumstances of the death.
