Three Israeli Bedouins Detained in Egypt Since March, Families Seek Answers

Three Israeli Bedouin men from the town of Shagav Shalom have been detained in Egypt since March 21, with contact lost since their arrest. The men, Bilal Masoudin (27), Bilal Salem Abu Ayish (28), and Ahmed Aldogi (25), were traveling back to Israel from a vacation in Sharm El Sheikh when they were reportedly taken from a taxi by Egyptian intelligence officials before reaching the Taba border crossing. One of the detainees managed to send a message indicating they were being held by Egyptian authorities.

For months, the families refrained from publicizing the case, hoping for a quiet resolution. However, with no progress and limited information, they have now come forward. Their attempts to gain information through lawyers in Egypt have also been unsuccessful, with two hired attorneys eventually withdrawing from the case.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that it has received confirmation of the men's detention but has no further details regarding their whereabouts or conditions. Merav Marks, director of the Diplomatic and Civil Law Department at the ministry, stated that despite numerous inquiries to Egyptian authorities, no additional information has been provided beyond the confirmation of their arrest.
