Three Israeli Bedouins Held in Egypt for Six Months Without Contact

Three Israeli citizens from Segev Shalom have been detained in Egypt since March 21, with their families unaware of their whereabouts or condition. The men, aged 25 to 28 and belonging to the al-Azazmeh Bedouin tribe, were reportedly intercepted before reaching the Taba border crossing while returning from a vacation in Sharm El Sheikh. They were allegedly taken from their taxi by Egyptian intelligence agents. Shortly before contact was lost, one of the detainees sent a message to his family stating, "They are arresting us," and informed a friend that they were in the hands of Egyptian authorities. After months of discreet efforts, the families have decided to make the case public. Two Egyptian lawyers hired to locate the detainees were unable to obtain any information and subsequently withdrew from the case. Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the three men are being held but has no further details, despite numerous requests to Egyptian authorities.
