Negev Families Appeal to Egypt Over Sons Detained for Six Months
Three families from the Negev region of Israel have appealed to Egyptian authorities to reveal the fate of their sons, who have been detained since March 20, 2026. The families stated they have received no information about Bilal Hassan Masoudin Al-Walidi, Bilal Salam Al-Afshak, and Ahmed Ouda Al-Doji since their arrest by Egyptian authorities at the Taba border crossing. The young men were reportedly returning from a trip to Sharm El Sheikh when they were detained.
Israeli radio station "Reshet Bet" reported that the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of the situation, but neither the ministry nor Egyptian authorities have issued an official comment. Member of Knesset Walid Al-Huashla, representing the United Arab List, urged the Egyptian leadership and relevant agencies to intervene urgently and disclose the young men's whereabouts.
Al-Huashla stated in a released statement that months have passed without the families receiving any official information, leaving them in a state of severe anxiety and uncertainty. He appealed to Egypt for swift intervention to uncover the young men's fate and allow them to contact their families, alleviating their ongoing suffering.
