Two Arrested in Negev for Extorting Man with Intimate Photos

Two suspects in their 20s from the Bedouin town of Ar'ara in the Negev were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of extorting a man by threatening to release intimate material that could harm him. The investigation revealed that the victim was demanded to pay 50,000 shekels under threat. Following the report, officers from the Ar'ara police station launched an investigation and worked to bring the suspects to justice.

In a proactive operation, police forces successfully apprehended the two suspects "red-handed" as they arrived at the location where they allegedly planned to receive the money demanded from the victim. The two were transferred for further investigation at the Ar'ara station.

Chief Inspector David Aptaker, an investigation officer at the Ar'ara station, stated, "This was a targeted operation that stemmed from high-quality investigative and intelligence work by the station's officers. We acted with determination and precise timing to reach the suspects in real-time, prevent the continuation of the extortion, and make the arrest as the suspects arrived to receive the money. We will continue to act decisively against those who try to exploit the public through threats and extortion."
