14 Israelis Cross Into Syria, Returned by IDF
Fourteen Israeli civilians crossed the border from the Alon HaBashan area into Syrian territory on Tuesday evening, the IDF spokesperson announced. An IDF force was dispatched to locate the civilians and returned them to Israeli territory. The civilians were detained and will be transferred for further processing by the Israel Police.
The IDF condemned the incident, stating it was "another case of serious interference with operational activity and a danger to the security of IDF forces operating in the area." Law enforcement agencies were urged to prosecute those involved to prevent similar incidents. The army emphasized that crossing the border is a criminal offense.
