Police Solve Murder of "Caucasian Mafia" Boss in Caesarea
Israeli police announced Tuesday the successful investigation into the assassination of Yanis Yushbayev, the alleged head of the "Caucasian Mafia," who was shot and killed last month at a gas station in Caesarea. A 54-year-old resident of Beit She'an has been arrested in connection with the murder, and an indictment is expected to be filed against him in the coming days.
Yushbayev was considered a major target for Israeli police in the Sharon region and was known for his deep connections within the Caucasian criminal organization. Police stated that the suspect was apprehended shortly after the assassination.
Following a prosecutor's statement, the State Attorney's Office is preparing to file the indictment and will also request that the suspect be held in custody until the legal proceedings conclude.
