Two Israelis in their 40s were killed overnight in a single-vehicle crash in the Malibu area of Los Angeles, California, between Saturday and Sunday Israel time. The article says the crash happened in the United States and was an autonomous or self-inflicted accident, and the scene and response were still being handled as of publication.
One of the victims lived in Los Angeles with his wife and children. The families of the dead contacted ZAKA’s international hotline and asked for assistance. ZAKA said its international unit had been working with local authorities in the United States and with the families since the report came in.
The organization said it was helping with identification, documentation, and the other arrangements required after the crash. ZAKA deputy operations chief Chaim Weingarten said, “The international unit of ZAKA is working in cooperation with the local authorities in the United States and accompanying the families with everything needed.” He added, “We are assisting with the identification procedures and advancing the necessary steps for continued treatment.” ZAKA representatives were at the site from the night and were continuing to help the families.
