Two Israeli citizens, Yanir Ruhem of Ramla and Omri Moalem of Ashdod, were killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Malibu area of California. Both men were in their 40s. Ruhem was in the United States as a tourist, while Moalem had lived in Los Angeles in recent years.
According to the information available so far, no other vehicles were involved in the accident. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.
Their funerals are expected to take place in Israel in the coming days, after the necessary procedures are completed. At the same time, the investigation into the crash continues.
After the report was received, ZAKA's international unit began working with local authorities in the United States and with the families of the deceased. The organization said it is assisting with identification, documentation, and all required arrangements. ZAKA operations deputy director Chaim Weingarten said the unit is working with U.S. authorities and accompanying the families through the process, adding, "We are assisting with identification procedures and advancing the required steps for continued treatment."
