Two Men Die in Separate Vehicle Crashes in Northern Israel and Jerusalem Overnight

Two fatal traffic incidents occurred overnight in Israel, resulting in the deaths of two men. In the Jezreel Valley, Fahmi Ziyada, a resident of Muqeibleh in northern Israel, died after a collision between a truck and a private car on Route 675. The accident was reported at 04:01 to Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services. Ziyada, who had married just a month prior, was trapped unconscious in his vehicle with severe injuries. Despite emergency medical treatment and transport to Emek Medical Center in Afula, he was pronounced dead. The truck driver, conscious but seriously injured, was also hospitalized. Paramedics described the crash as severe, involving life-saving interventions at the scene.

Residents of Muqeibleh expressed deep sorrow, recalling Ziyada as a beloved young man well known in the community. They gathered to mourn and support his family following the tragic news.

Simultaneously, in Jerusalem, a suspect involved in a car theft died after a police chase. The suspect stole a vehicle in the Katamon neighborhood and fled, driving recklessly including on the wrong side of the road. Police fired at the vehicle’s tires, but the suspect continued until crashing into a pole and another car at the Al-Tur junction. A police officer and a civilian sustained minor injuries. The suspect was critically injured and later died in hospital; his identity remains unknown. These incidents highlight ongoing road safety and law enforcement challenges in Israel.
