Terrorist Captured Alive After Deadly Attack Near Neve Tzuf; Execution Eyed

Israeli forces have apprehended the terrorist responsible for a deadly attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf, also known as Halamish, in the West Bank. The suspect, identified by Arab media as Qadri Muhammad Samra from the village of Biddu, was captured wounded but alive in a hospital in Ramallah, reportedly connected to a ventilator. His injury occurred during the attack due to gunfire from a nearby tracker.

His capture alive raises the possibility that he could be the first individual executed under Israel's recently enacted death penalty law for terrorists. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has strongly advocated for the law's application in this case, stating, "In this case, there is a mandatory sentence, so we demand to apply this sentence and implement the execution of the terrorist. The law is the law."

However, Yulia Malinowski, a Member of Knesset from the Yisrael Beiteinu party, expressed skepticism about the law's implementation. She argued that the law, as passed by Ben-Gvir, was more for political show than practical application, and doubted the captured terrorist would face execution, suggesting he would instead serve a prison sentence.
