Weapons Cache Seized in Southern Israel, Eight Suspects Arrested

Police and National Guard forces conducted a series of operations in the Negev region over the weekend, targeting illegal weapons and violence. During the sweeps in the towns of Hura, Shagav Shalom, and Ar'ara, authorities seized two firearms, 26 magazines, combat equipment, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Eight suspects were arrested in connection with the findings.

In one raid on a residential compound in Hura, officers discovered a Glock pistol, M-16 magazines, and hundreds of 5.56mm and 9mm bullets. Four individuals, three men and one woman, were apprehended at the scene and taken for questioning.

Simultaneously, in Ar'ara, a search of another residential area yielded 10 magazines and nine packages containing hundreds of bullets. Two more suspects were arrested and transferred for further investigation.

Additional arrests were made in Shagav Shalom, where a suspect involved in a shooting incident was apprehended after a search. Another individual was arrested in Ar'ara with a handgun in his possession.

The Southern District Police stated that they will continue proactive operations to thwart shootings, locate illegal weapons, and prosecute those involved to ensure public safety.
