Intensive Security Sweep in Negev Nets Weapons, Arrests
Israeli police and Border Guard forces conducted an extensive security operation across several Bedouin towns in the Negev desert over the weekend. The sweep targeted the towns of Hura, Shqib al-Salam, and Ar'arat al-Naqab.
During the operation, authorities seized significant weaponry, including two handguns, one of which was a Glock model. They also confiscated 26 ammunition magazines and combat equipment designed for M-16 rifles, along with hundreds of live rounds of various calibers.
As a result of the raids, eight suspects, including a woman from Hura, were apprehended. They have been taken for criminal investigation and are scheduled to appear in court on Sunday to face potential extensions of their detention.
